Mentor Coaching

Mentor coaching is a mandatory part of your coach certification journey, as the International Coach Federation (ICF) requires coaches to complete 10 hours of mentor coaching. As a PCC and member of the ICF Mentor Coach Registry, I support new coaches preparing to apply for their ACC Level Credential or those looking to re-certify in compliance with the ICF’s definition and the guidelines of mentor coaching. ICF coach certification requires coaches to complete a minimum of 10 hours of mentor coaching, out of which 7 hours should be group mentor coaching and 3 hours should be individual (one-on-one) mentor coaching.

What is Mentor Coaching?

Mentor coaching is a process where you are coached on your coaching skills in preparation for the ICF certification as a certified coach. It follows a different approach than coaching on business goals, personal elements, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of your coaching skill.

Mentor Coach program

My Mentor Coaching program is designed specifically for coaches who want to deepen their coaching skills, get coached on their coaching skills, and prepare for ICF Credential. The focus is on supporting coaches to master the ICF Core Coaching Competencies. This includes the rigorous practice of ICF Core Coaching Competencies to help you master the coaching process and accelerate your learning. The program consists of 10 hours of mentor coaching.

As per the ICF requirements, mentor coaching can be conducted as 7-hours of group mentor coaching and 3-hours of individual (one-on-one) mentor coaching. I conduct the group mentor coaching in weekly sessions, and one-on-one mentor coaching is completed in 3 sessions.

I also provide 10-hours of individual (one-on-one) mentor coaching for clients who want a more tailored learning experience including written and verbal feedback on recorded sessions and other resources as applicable.

“I’ve learned so much about myself from each session. Lisa asks me questions that stop me in my tracks and make me re-think what I’m doing and why. Lisa is great about helping me challenge myself, just by asking the simplest questions, like “What’s important about that?” I look forward to each of my coaching sessions with her because I know I’m going to come away with a totally new insight or perspective about myself.”
