Trauma Coaching

I used to believe that the word trauma was reserved for people who had experienced unspeakable acts. Since becoming a Trauma-Informed Certified Coach, I now know that is not true.

Trauma is defined as a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. Traumatic experiences can leave individuals feeling helpless, powerless, terrorized, isolated and lonely. Trauma can undermine a person’s ability to cope with everyday tasks. Regular life can be challenging enough without traumatic events added to the mix.

I was drawn to trauma-informed coaching to understand and grow from my own personal experiences. In coaching conversations, I am grateful that people share their life stories with me. Occasionally I hear the hurt and struggle behind the resolve. Skills gained through trauma-informed coaching allow me to better understand and support clients experiencing trauma.

Unlike clinical helping professionals, I don’t diagnose or treat illness. I fully support therapy and work well with clients who have done some inner work and are ready to commit to creating positive changes in their lives.

I help create awareness and advocacy so that clients can demonstrate self-compassion, respect and trust to set boundaries and make choices based on their values.

If you are struggling at work, home, in relationships or feel you need support to process feelings of overwhelm, know you are not alone. Please reach out.
